The most important thing Judith taught me is that I need to spend time teaching the people I work with. She explained that people who lead in companies sometimes try to do everything on their own because it seems easier than letting someone else do it, but it is a trap I shouldn’t fall into. My efforts as a CIO would be completely wasted unless I took the time to teach employees how to do things for themselves. And she was right. I would go a hundred times again for that precious time I had with her, and I wish everyone could have the same opportunity.
There’s nothing I like more than business trips to sunny places where I can learn from the best in the industry. And that is exactly what I got to experience when I travelled to Florida. The beaches in Florida were absolutely beautiful, and the nightlife is everything you see in the movies. I even got a chance to hold a baby alligator and go on an airboat tour through the everglades. But what I got most from my trip was an opportunity to spend a few hours with Judith Haddad getting some advice on how to better succeed as a CIO.
Every company is highly influenced by the people in their executive suite positions. Everything from the Chief Executive Officer to the Chief Financial Officer is important. These positions really affect how a company will run and where it will go in the future. One of the executive suite positions that is most important is the Chief Information Officer (CIO), responsible for all information technology that runs through the company.
In the past, this position has been very minimal and didn’t require a lot of extra work, but in a time when everything is run through technology, it is more important than ever to make sure we have qualified individuals filling those CIO positions. Judith Haddad of Patriot Technology Solutions is one of the most influential CIOs, and she isn’t going to be done anytime soon.
Working at Patriot National Solutions has been amazing. I have learned more about technology and the insurance industry than I ever realized there even was to learn, and I have been able to show off that learning in many of the projects I have worked on at the company. I have especially enjoyed work for and learning from Judith Haddad, President and CIO at Patriot.
Patience from Haddad
Judith Haddad is the CIO, so you would think she wouldn’t be very available to the employees at the company. It is actually the opposite of that. She has always been around to help me whenever I have questions or need anything, and I have been surprised at her level of involvement. She really wants to make sure the programs and technology we are creating will work well and will do exactly what the client wants it to do. She is also extremely patient with us as she helps teach us the things we need to know to provide excellent solutions instead of getting frustrated or upset with us. I’ve been very grateful to have her around to help teach me and build up our team.
